Retrieve Our Ghc 85M from Your Cousin & Sack Sports Minister too- Ablakwa to Akufo-Addo
Investigative Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa stated that, the “face saving dismissal” of the former Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Dodzie Numekevor by President Akufo-Addo is not enough.
According to him it is crucially important for the president to as a matter of urgency retrieve an amount of Ghc 85 million paid to his cousin for the rehabilitation of stadia across the country.
The lawmaker also demands the sacking of Youth and Sports Minister, Yussif Mustapha and akk those complicit in the payment which has resulted in what he described as “international disgrace and huge financial loss to the state”.
“The President must immediately retrieve our GHS85million stadia rehabilitation payments from his cousin Kelvin Ofori-Atta and Javkier Limited owned by the Arhin ladies.
The Sports Minister must equally be fired, and all those responsible for this humongous international disgrace and huge financial loss to the state should be prosecuted” Mr Ablakwa stated.
Mr Samuel Ablakwa who is Chairman of the Government Assurances Committee of Parliament is of the firm believe that, sacking Mr Numekevor, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Sege constituency as the sole scapegoat is not adequate deterrence due to the magnitude of the scandal even as Ghanaians wait for accountability from January 7, 2027.
“Creating one scapegoat is not adequate deterrence for the unprecedented monumental international embarrassment the corrupt and inept Akufo-Addo/ Bawumia government has subjected Ghana to”
Most Ghanaians simply can’t wait for the period of real accountability from
January 7, 2025″.
Mr Ablakwa said these in a social media post on Wednesday September 18, 2024.
President Akufo-Addo’s face saving dismissal of the NSA boss cannot suffice.
