President Mahama Returns from AU Retreat, Advocates for Institutional Reforms
President John Dramani Mahama has returned to Accra after participating in a High-Level Retreat on African Union (AU) Institutional Reforms, held in Kenya from January 27 to 28 2024.
The retreat, hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto, brought together African leaders to discuss key reforms aimed at enhancing the Union’s efficiency and effectiveness .
During the event, President Mahama delivered a speech alongside other heads of state, engaging in crucial discussions on strengthening the AU, improving peace and security, and addressing pressing challenges facing African continent.
The retreat provided an opportunity for President Mahama to contribute his leadership experience and insights to the growth of the AU and Ghana’s commitment to the Union’s agenda.
Ultimately,as part of his diplomatic engagements, President Mahama also visited Tanzania, concluding a three-nation tour that began with a stop in Angola. In Angola, he held bilateral talks with Angolan officials, demonstrating his commitment to fostering cooperation and collaboration among African nations.
