NPP Elects New PC Today For April 30 Ejisu By-election
Voting is currently ongoing to elect a new Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ejisu Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
About 1,081 delegates are expected to cast their votes today to elect a new PC for the Ejisu constituencyelection triggered by the passing of sitting Member of Parliament, Dr John Kumah who was also a Deputy Finance Minister.
John Kumah, aged 45, who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, succumbed to a brief illness, leaving behind a wife and six children.
A total of nine individuals have been cleared by the vetting committee of party to contest in today’s parliamentary primary.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has set April 30, 2024 for the conduct of the Ejisu by-election to elect a new Member of Parliament for the area.
The opposition National Democratic Congress and the All People’s Congress (APC) have announced they will not be presenting candidates for the April 30 by-election.
