Lydia Seyram Alhasaan Is New Sanitation Minister Designate
President Akufo-Addo has nominated the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency in the Greater Accra region, Lydia Syram Alhassan as the new minister responsible for Sanitation and Water Resources in a new ministerial reshuffle.
Approximately 13 current ministers of state, including 10 cabinet ministers and two regional ministers, were affected by the reshuffle.

The President submitted to Parliament, for prior approval, through the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin the names of the new Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State, in accordance with articles 78, 79 and 256, respectively, of the Constitution:
This follows the re-organisation of the Government.
Hon Lydia Alhassan affectinately called Maa Lydia is currently the First Deputy Majority Whip and has championed several developmental initiatives within the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.
She was recently elected unopposed as the Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the receconstituency due to her stellar performance and cordial relationship with all irrespective of their social status.
Hon Lydia Seyram Alhassan untill her election as MP in 2019, was the Chief Executive Officer of LYMENS Medical Supplies limited.
Maa Lydia is a member of the Health, Minies and Energy, Business and Committee of Selection committees of the House.
The 54-year old Saniation Minister designate is expected to bring her rich human relations to bear in her new portfolio if approved by parliament to help improve upon the sanitation and water situations in the country.
