Lawyer Kwabena Boateng Elected NPP Parliamentary Candidate For Ejisu
After several hours of electioneering activities amidst allegations of vote buying, a private legal practitioner, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng has been elected Parliamentary Candidate ahead of eight (8) other candidates in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primary for the Ejisu constituency in the Ashanti region.
Lawyer Kwabena Boateng is currently the 2nd Deputy Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ejisu Constituency.
According to official results declared by the Electoral Commission, out of a total ballot of 1,081 casted, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng pulled 393 to emerge winner.
Dr Evans Duah got, 63 whiles Clinsma Karikari Mensah managed only two (2) votes, Helena Mensah garnered 302 and Jacqueline Abena Pokua Amoah Boaitey had zero.
Others are Portia Mensah (wife of Abronye) who had six (6) votes, former president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi pulled 35 votes, Aaron Prince Duah got two (2) and Yaa Akyawmma Aboagye ganered 229 of the total votes cast.
The party conducted the parliamentary primary following the demise of the Member of Parliament for Ejisu, John Ampontuah Kumah.
Throughout the week, campaign activities were fervent as aspirants diligently engaged with delegates to secure their votes.
The Electoral Commission has announced April 30, 2024 for the conduct of the Ejisu By-election to elect a new Member of Parliament for the constituency.
