Joycelyn Tetteh Is Vice Chair Of Sanitation & Water Resources Committee Of Parliament

The Member of Parliament for North Dayi constituency, Joycelyn Tetteh has been made Vice Chairperson of the 13-member Sanitation and Water Resources committee of Ghana’s Parliament.
Her appointment as vice chairperson follows the recomposition of committees of the House in line with provisions of the new Standing Orders adopted by the legislature.
The revised Standing Orders of the House reconstituted committees of the House by revising the membership and mandate of some committees, established new committees and re-designed some committees which were established under the old standing orders.
The committee on Sanitation and Water Resources which is one such newly established committees is expected to play oversight role over the sanitation and water resources sector in the wake of challenges of sanitation and water availability for citizens of Ghana.
Ghana lags behind in the attainment of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goal six targets on sanitation and water.
This new committee set up by parliament demonstrates the commitment of the lawmaking arm of government towards meeting the SDG targets.
The young North Dayi lawmaker who entered parliament in 2016 has served on the Business and Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs committees of the House.
Jocelyn who is an ambassador for human trafficking in Ghana was honored in August 2019 by the Chiefs and people of the North Dayi Constituency and is conferred with the title; Mama Edzeame.
Hon Joycelyn Tetteh was also adjudged the as a joint Overall Best performed lawmaker for the year 2023 according to a survey conducted by FAKS Investigative Services for her dedication and commitment to the welfare of her constituents on the floor of parliament and at the constituency levels.
She is expected to bring her expertise to bear in ensuring effective oversight in the sanitation and water sector for a cleaner Ghana and increase availability of portable drinking water to all Ghanaians.
