History: Cristiano Ronaldo The Only Top Scorer In 4 Major Leagues

Portuguese International and captain of the national male soccer team, Cristiano Ronaldo has yet again made history in the world of football as the only player to have emerged top scorer in four major leagues of the globe in the anals of the game.

The Portuguese star spent time playing in England, Italy, Spain & Saudi Arabia.

Crisitiano Ronaldo chalked the new feet in football history as he sets a new Saudi Pro League goal record with 35 goals in the 2023-24 season to beat the previous record of 34 goals held by Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah in the 2018-19 season.

In a tweet after scoring his 34th and 35th goals in Al Nassr’s final game against Al Ittihad, 39-year old Cristiano Ronaldo has these to say:

“I don’t follow the records, the records follow me,”.

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star .

Having joined Al Nassr in December 2022, Ronaldo’s influence has marked a significant influx of overseas talent in the Saudi league.

English Premiership

Ronaldo emerged the top scorer with 31 goals in 34 games for Manchester United in the 2007/2008 season of the English Premier League for Real Madrid.

Spanish La Liga

In the 2011/2012 and 2013/2014 seasons of the Spanish La Liga, the five time Ballon d’Or winner emerged top scorer with 40 goals in 34 games and 31 goals in 30 games respectively.

Italia Serie A

In the 2020/2021 Italian Serie A season , Cristiano emerged the top scorer with 29 goals in 33 appearances for Juventus.

Saudi Pro League

Cristiano Ronaldo completed the quadruple record with his new club, Al-Nasser in the Saudi Pro League with 35 goals in 31 games for the 2023-24 season.

Ronaldo, who led Portugal to victory at the 2016 Euros, has been selected for the squad for this year’s edition in Germany, marking his 11th international tournament.

He holds the record for the most capped player in men’s international football with 206 appearances and 128 goals.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the first player to achieve 800 victories in the history of the game.
