Finance Minister Presents 2024 Mid-Year Budget Today
Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, will today Tuesday July 23, 2024 present the 2024 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament.
The presentation is expected to update the lawmakers on the implementation of the government’s 2024 Budget and also provide revised financial plans and economic outlook for the country.
In a statement dated Monday, July 22, the Ministry said the review would provide an update on the implementation of the 2024 budget, with insights into the economic and fiscal performance for the first half of the year.
There would be an update on growth measures, revenue, expenditure performance, financing, and debt sustainability.
The Minister would also update Parliament on the implementation of the ongoing US$3 billion International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan-supported Post-COVID-19 Programme for Economic Growth (PC-PEG).
This will be Dr Amin Adam’s first time presenting in Parliament since assuming office as Finance Minister in February 2024, in line with Section 28 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).
No new tax measures are expected in the mid-year review.
