Electrochem Ghana Is Winner Of 4 Sustainability & Social Investment Awards
Electrochem Ghana Limited has been adjudged winner of four awards at the just ended Sustainability Social Investment (SSI) Awards for the year 2023 held at the plush Kempinski hotel in Accra on Friday 17th November.

The 2023 awards which is the 7th edition of the Sustainability Social Investment Awards organised by Ianmatsun Global Services, is an initiative aimed at creating awareness, encourage companies in Corporate Social Investment/Corporate Social Responsibility (CSI/CSR) foundations, NGO’s and other implementing agencies in delivering high impact CSI/CSR projects that align with Government’s focus on the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).
The awards recognises companies that adopt a multi-stakeholder approach that leads to excellent outcomes.

Electrochem Ghana on the night won four (4) out of the eight (8) category nominations it received.
The categories include: Best Company supporting Local Content, Best Company in community development and infrastructure project, Best company in providing health facilities and Best company in providing Sanitation facilities.

Other companies in these categories were Anglo-Gold Ashanti Obuasi Mine, Anglo-Gold Ashanti Iduapriem mine, Vivo Energy, UBA Bank , ABsa Bank, Total energies among others.
Management of Electrochem Ghana was represented at the awards ceremony by the Sustainability Programs Officers including Yvonne Amankwa, Louisa Akpoto Bernice Nanor and Operations Manager, Bernard Tetteh.
Dignitaries who graced the event includes the Vice Chancellor of the University of Mines And Technology (UMaT), Prof Richard Amankwah and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Stock Exchange, , Mrs Abena Amoah.
Sustainability & Social Investment Awards
The Sustainability & Social Investment Awards is an initiative to create awareness, encourage companies and other implementing agencies to place more emphasis on Corporate Social responsibility initiatives to positively impact their host communities for the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Electrochem Ghana limited, is a wholly owned Ghanaian company dedicated towards providing value and a lasting impact on its host communities through human centered initiatives.
In just three years of operation, the Company has initiated several corporate social responsibility activities including the construction of water closet toilet facilities, the provision of water systems, health facilities, road infrastructure, sports facilities, interest free loans among others.
Electrochem Ghana has also integrated its host communities into its salt mining activity by providing community pans for communities within its catchment areas to mine salt in an inclusive manner.
The Electrochem Ghana salt project is expected to produce 1,000,000 metric tons of salt per annum to supply to local and export markets in a sustainable manner.
