The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover has paid glowing tribute to the Asantehene, Osei Tutu II for his stellar leadership which has brought peace and development to the Asante Kingdom and Ghana as a whole over the past twenty five years.
Delivering a welcome address on behalf of the Ga Mantse and the people of the region to officially welcome the Asantehene for his historic visit to the Ga Kingdom, Mr Glover said: “Today Chieftaincy not about wars” but about ‘friendship and development’
He declared the admiration of the Ga people of the Asantehene for making the chieftaincy so beautiful and colourful and expressed optiomism that the Ga State would partner him to tap into his rich experience for the development of the Ga State.
The Greater Accra regional minister noted that unique culture and tradition of Ga’s needs to be harnessed for the progress of the region.
There is currently ongoing vibrant display of Ghanaian culture as the Ga Mantse, Nii Teiko Tsuru II, hosts the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at a grand durbar at the forecourt of the Ga Mantse’s Palace in Kaneshie, Accra.
The durbar, a traditional ceremony featuring dignitaries, drumming, and dance, is a celebration of the strong bond between the Ga and Asante people.
The momentous occasion follows the Ga Mantse’s recent participation in the Asantehene’s 25th anniversary celebration.
Beyond its cultural significance, the durbar serves as a powerful symbol of unity and peace in the lead-up to Ghana’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections later this year.
This is the first time, the Asantehene is visiting the Ga State since the visit in 1946, by Otumfuo Osei Agyeman Prempeh II, 78 years ago.
