Afenyo-Markin Distributes Over 2000 Laptops To Teachers In Effutu
As a demonstration of his quest to promote education delivery, the Majority leader in Ghana’s Parliament, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin has since 2018 distributed over Two Thousand (2000) laptops to teachers within the Effutu Constituency and environs of the Central region.
Mr Afenyo-Markin who is the Member of Parliament for the area said teachers play pivotal role in the education of the future leaders of the country hence the need to equip them with the requisite tools to enable them impact their pupils and students especially during this era of artificial intelligence (AI).
He encouraged the beneficiary teachers to make good use of the laptops in their research to enable them impact their students with the required knowledge for the good of society.
The Majority leader gave the admonition in Parliament on Monday June 10, 2024 when he presented laptops to 25 teachers who were transfered from the Effutu area to neighbouring to communites to continue their trade.
He admonished teachers to guard against politics of insults and avoid unnecessary acrimony during discussions in their various schools to help them impact their puplis and students in a more positive manner.
A beneficiary of the benevolence of the Effutu lawmaker, Rejoice Arhin on behalf of her colleague teachers expressed gratitude to the MP for his continues support to education delivery and prayed for God’s blessings upon him to assume greater responsibility in future.
The leader of Government Business also called on the media and Civil Society Organisations in the country to point out excesses in the governance process to put government on its toes and commend same where it is due.
