Ada Chiefs Pledge 100% Support for Electrochem’s Plan to Develop Ada, Sege, and Environs
The traditional leaders of Ada have declared their unwavering support for Electrochem Ghana Limited’s ambitious plan to develop Ada, Sege, and the surrounding areas.
This endorsement was made during a recent visit by George Mireku Duker, the Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources responsible for Mining, on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister toured the salt mining operations at the Songhor Lagoon, gaining firsthand insights into the processes and potential of the project.
The Ada Chiefs, in a show of solidarity, pledged their full cooperation with Electrochem Ghana Limited, emphasizing their commitment to the development and prosperity of their communities.
Nene Abram Kabu Akuaku III, the Paramount Chief of Ada, expressed his confidence in Electrochem’s vision and capabilities. “We are fully behind Electrochem’s initiatives.
The company has demonstrated a clear commitment to the well-being of our people and the sustainable development of our region,” he stated.
Deputy Minister for Lands in Charge of Mines, George Mireku Duker commended the chiefs for their support and highlighted the significant impact the project has already had on the local economy.
With an investment of $80 million and the creation of over 1,800 direct jobs, Electrochem Ghana Limited is poised to transform the economic landscape of Ada and its environs.
In a press briefing, Mireku Duker announced that Electrochem Ghana Limited would soon be listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange, allowing the local populace to invest in the company.
“This move reflects the company’s dedication to transparency and inclusivity, offering Ghanaians a stake in this transformative venture,” he remarked.
The chiefs’ endorsement is seen as a pivotal moment in the project’s progress, ensuring a harmonious relationship between Electrochem and the local communities.
With plans for infrastructure development, educational initiatives, and job creation, the partnership promises to bring substantial benefits to Ada, Sege, and neighboring areas.
