VIVO Energy Tops All At GHACEA 2023
VIVO Energy Ghana has been declared the overall best social responsibility conscious company operating in Ghana at the 10th Ghana Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Awards (GHACEA) 2023.

Apart from the overall best, the company also won the CSR Project of the Year Award with its road safety campaign initiative dubbed: ‘Stop, Think and Drive’ while its Corporate Communications Manager, Shirley Tony Kum was also adjust the CSR Practitioner of the Year Award.
Vivo Energy is a Shell and Engen Petroleum licensee and sources, distributes, markets and supplies fuels and lubricants.

Winners of the various categories.
Lumiere Group won the Community Development CSR company of the year, whiles Vodafone Ghana was adjudged the CSR company of the year in the Health category.
Blues Skies won the CSR company of the year sward in the Education sector whiles STRATCOM Africa won the CSR Greening and Environmental Protection sector.

World Vision won the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Partnership of the year category, RYTHM Foundation emerged the Youth and Disability Inclusion category winner, AMANEX won the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) company of the year, ASA Savings and Loans won the Savings and Loans company of the year whiles Blay and Associates won the CSR Consultancy company of the year.

The CSR Engineering company of the year went to VICBens, Coconut Grove Hotel won the CSR Hospitality company of the year, Vodafone Ghana won the Telecommunications company of the year , Fidelity Bank won the CSR Bank of the year and Coca Cola won the Manufacturing company of the year.
Aviation company of the year went to Delta Airlines, CSR Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) of the year went to World Vision and CSR CEO of the year went to CEO of Fidelity Bank, Julian Opuni.

A Deputy Minister for Energy, Mr Herbert Krapa in a speech read on his behalf encouraged businesses operating in Ghana to invest in renewable energy sources as part of their CSR efforts to help the country achieve its sustainable energy targets.
According to him, government was working to make energy services “universally acceptable and accessible” to all citizens.
The Deputy Minister, in his address, said various strategies, including studies to update existing data on small hydro energy potentials, were being deployed to achieve the country’s renewable energy targets.

He said CSR programmes by companies could as well focus on “increasing access to electricity in rural and underserved areas of the country.”
The Co-Founder and Lead Project Manager for the Centre for CSR West Africa, organisers of the GHACEA 2023, Kojo Williams challenged recipients of the awards showcase their good works as CSR minded entities to attract others.
This he noted will will enhance the socio-economic development of their host country Ghana and her people.
Present at the ceremony were representatives of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Ghana National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GNCCI) among others.
GHACEA is an annual event put together by the CSR West Africa to reward socially responsive organizations.
CSR West Africa is a leading Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Sustainability strategy development, policy advocacy, public relations, events and communications agency in the West African sub-region.
The Centre develops CSR strategy for large and small corporations and offer to implement same through a scientific process that produces desired and empirical results for all stakeholders. The Centre advocates for socially-responsible and sustainable practices among stakeholders, especially players in private sector. The Centre organises West Africa’s biggest CSR events and initiatives.
