Universal Record Label Removes Millions Of Music From Tiktok

Universal music group (UMG), giant of the music industry has recently removed all their music from tiktok.
Universal took the radical stance against Tiktok on 30th of January, 2024.

Negotiations for the renewal of the contract between the two protagonists were unsuccessful.
The development is not a good news for the media platform.
Apparently, Universal complained about the remunerations of the artists and composers.

The record label organisation accused Tiktok of under rating its music, while Tiktok laments on Universal’s greed.
According to UMG, Tiktok was trying to build a music-based company without paying fair value for the music.
