November 28, 2023

Prominent  Ghanaian businessman and business mogul  and Owner of Class Media Group , Alhaji Seidu Agongo has through his foundation and business partners distributed cash amount to over Gh231,000 to over 11,000 affected persons affected by the  Akosombo Dam Spillage in Mepe and surrounding areas in the Volta Region.

The huge donation was carried out over the weekend by a select group of the Foundation’s officials and workers of the media conglomerate, Class Media Group on Saturday , November 25,2023.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony , the Business Development Manager of Class Media Group, Agyemang Obeng Prempeh stated that the plight of the affected persons in the communities hard hit by the spillage caught the attention of the celebrated Philanthropist and businessman, Alhaji Seidu Agongo and his partners who decided to contribute their widow’s mite to support relief efforts aimed at bringing normalcy to the lives of the victims.

” We as a business empire and human oriented organization led by our affable and kindhearted owner , Alhaji Seidu Agongo were touched by the sad nature in which some of our countrymen and women have been living in for over 2 months since the spillage was done to save the integrity of the dam .

As a human Centred organization ,we believe in the Ubuntu concept of development ,so we set into motion our social connections and looked into our kitty to draw out our widow’s mite to support the laudable support Ghanaians from all walks of life have sent to the  affected areas to beef up government efforts to restore livelihoods and properties”.

Also, the cash support given to the over 11,000 individuals in Mepe and surrounding areas under the distinguished supervision of the Mepe Traditional council amounts to each beneficiary getting Gh200 each from the donors to keep them afloat as more support arrives from both the Volta River Authority and government .

” We made sure that each beneficiary receives Gh200 to add  to the support other groups and individuals across the country have sent to them in the earlier instances.

This little support we have added is to put smiles of our brothers and sisters herein gathered and ask them to be positive in the circumstances “.

The donation was done in partnership with business partners of the respected businessman ( Alhaji Seidu Agongo) as part of the company’s social responsibility in its operations in the country.

Alhaji Seidu Agongo is a business mogul and serial philanthropist with several business interests in banking ,media, real estate , oil and gas amongst others.
