Q3 Company Ltd Sponsors 2023 Jasikan Municipal Best Teacher Awards
A mining and construction firm conducting Iron Ore mineral resource estimation within the Jasikan municipality, Q3 Company Limited, has sponsored the 2023 Municipal Best Teacher Awards celebration.
The maiden Best Teacher Awards of the Jasikan municipal assembly which was on theme: “The Transformation of Education Begins With Teachers’’ was an initiative of the Municipal Chief Executive, Kessewaa Ama Adjornor to help improve education delivery in the municipality.

The company which was the main sponsor of the awards donated two double door fridges, two large microwaves and a fifty (50) inch digital television set as part of the prices for the best female teacher and the overall best teacher within the Jasikan municipal area for the year 2023.
Speaking during the awards ceremony in Jasikan, Operations Manager of Q3 Company Ltd, Mr Anthony Frimpong Boateng disclosed that his outfit is currently prospecting for Iron Ore within the Bodada enclave of the municipality under the supervision of GIISDEC and allays the fears of residents that its activities may negatively impact water bodies and other livelihoods.
“Q3 Limited is currently conducting Mineral Resource Estimation (MRE) in Bodada. This is to determine the quantity of iron ore and the monetary value. This project is supervised by Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation (GIISDEC)” Mr Frimpong Boateng said.

Explaining the processes of Iron Ore extraction to the audience, the Q3 Operations Manager, said unlike other mineral mining activities such as gold which depends the use water, Iron Ore extraction which is the focus of the company, can result in the provision of treated water for Bodada and its surrounding communities.
“It is very important to note that the stages in iron ore mining is different from other minerals. For instance, as the mining of Gold may require water to wash, iron ore do not need washing. Rather, after extracting from the mine, it undergoes screening, crushing and stock piling, feeding the crusher (Reclain), grinding, spiral gravity separation and Magnetic separation. Through the process of drilling, water that comes from the earth can be treated for community use” he said
Mr Frimpong Boateng also assured of Q3’s commitment towards protecting the environment and executing Corporate Social Responsibilities within its operational areas, this he said was the motivation to sponsor the 2023 Best Teacher awards ceremony.
“We do not take Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) lightly as a company and for this reason we decided to be the main sponsor for the Teacher’s Awards. Our focus on CSR projects includes but not limited to Education, Sports, Health, and Support for women in communities.
We also believe in protecting the environment in which we live, for as the saying goes “If the last tree dies, the last man dies”. Environmental Protection is very key in our operations, and we assure the good people of Bodada, and it surround communities that we will do responsible feasibility study and by God’s grace if we get to the mining stage too, we will do same”, he stated.
The management of Q3 also appeal to the Chiefs and people of the area and the region as a whole to lend their support to the project to enhance development of the region and for the benefit of future generations.
“We seek the prayers and support of Nananom and all major stakeholders within this municipality, and everyone in the Oti Region so that this project can see the light of day, as this project will bring a massive positive developmental change in the Municipality, the Region and Ghana at large”.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Jasikan, Elizabeth Kessewaah Ama Adjornor in a welcome address expressed gratitude to Q3 Company limited for the sponsorship which she noted will help improve education delivery in the area.
According to her, Q3 has been of significant assistance to the assembly since it began operations in the community.
She appealed to management of the company to sustain the sponsorship of the awards in an increased manner for the next five years to help improve education within the municipality.
The MCE who expressed deep concerns about the poor performance of the municipality in education in recent times noted that education delivery is a shared responsibility and the fulcrum around which development resolves hence requires the contribution of various stakeholders.

Member of Parliament for Buem, Kofi Iddi Adams commended the MCE for her leadership in initiating the awards and assured of his continues support to such efforts.
He appealed to the Chiefs of the Buem traditional area to eschew divisiveness and forge ahead in unity for the development of the area whiles appealing to the government through the regional minister to help address the infrastructure needs of the area.

Madam Perfect Asamoah of the Jasikan Demonstration Primary School received the overall Best Female Teacher award and took home a double door refrigerator and a certificate whiles Mr Kingsley Obour Asiedu of the Ketsi M/A Junior High School took the overall Best teacher prize in the Municipality and went home with a double door refrigerator, 32 Inch TV set, a microwave and a certificate.

There were prizes in various categories including the best ICT Teacher, best ICT student, best Teacher living with disability, best teacher early childhood education and best teacher in hard to reach community.
The rest are best teacher in Core Science, Best Teacher in Chemistry, Best Teacher in Biology, Best Teacher in JHS, Best Teacher in SHS and Best Teacher in Mathematics.

Others are Best School In Combating Social Exclusion, Best performed private school at 2022 BECE, Best performed public school at 2022 BECE, Best SISO, Best ICT School, Outstanding Teaching Staff and Outstanding Non-Teaching Staff.

The maiden Jasikan Municipal 2023 Best Teacher Awards ceremony which was chaired by Nana Kwadwo Lokko Omampe was witnessed by the Oti regional minister, Joshua Makubu, the Adontehene of the Buem Traditional Area and Jasikahene, Nana Edje Tete Kpase-Brantuo VII and the District Chief Executive for Guan, Janet Emefa Obro-Adibo.
