Background
Following the release of audited financial statements of the Bank of Ghana for the year 2022, it reported a total loss of GH¢60 billion.
This the minority believed was as a result of mismanagement of affairs at the central Bank by its governor, Dr Ernest AAddison and his two deputies.
The minority caucus led by Dr Casiel Ato Forson and its Spokesperson person on finance, Bolgatanga Central MP, Isaac Adongo variously accused the governor of filing to submit its report to parliament as stipulated by law;
It also accused the Central Bank of colluding with the president Akufo-addo led NPP Government and the finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta in unlawful printing of several notes of Ghana cedis that were not accounted for.
The protest which has been postponed on two occasions untill this day due to police disagreements on the routes for the exercise is in demand for the immediate resignation of the governor and his two deputies.
