Next NDC Gov’t Will Establish Military Barracks In All New Six Regions- Mahama

Former President of the republic of Ghana and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has disclosed that, his next government will establish military barracks in all the newly created six regions of the country.

The next NDC government will also form joint military and police squads to combat activities of armed robers across the country for citizens to go about their day-to-day activities in tranquility.

“..All the six new regions, are going to have a military barracks, so that the Ghana army will be present in all the regions”. In addition, we are going to form joint military and police anti-armed robbery squads, and one those squad’s will be here in the North Eeast region to fight armed robery because we want you to have and security to be able to go about your duties and we know that our 24-hour economy policy cannot work unless there is security and safety for everybody ” he stated

Mr Mahama disclosed these when he addressed Chiefs and people of the North East region during a courtesy call on the Gabarana at the Gambaga Chief palace on April 15, 2024 as part of his Building Ghana Tour.

He assured the people that when elected, NDC government will complete the several projects it started but were abandoned by the Akufo-Addo led NPP governemnt.

Some of these includes the new site for the Gambaga College of Education project, the community E-block SHS project at Lengbesi, the several road projects and water and electtrification projects.

President Mahama reiterated that it is the NDC’s policy to equip every region with a regional hospital, regional university and a recreational sports facility which is a stadium.

North East region he said will have its share of the stated facilties when the next NDC administration takes over governance of the country.

The NDC flagbearer has been holding series of engagements with relevant stakeholders to listen to their concerns as the party finalises its manifesto this July in readiness for the December 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.

The North East region is the last of the sixteen regional tours of Mr Mahama with officials of the party to gather relevant inputs into the NDC’s 2024 manifesto.
