McDan Foundation Reaches Out To Flood Victims In Ada
The McDan Group of Companies chaired by the philanthropist, Dr Daniel McKorley through the McDan Foundation has reached out to the rescue of misplaced Inhabitants of Ada East who as a result of the Akosombo and Kpong dams spillage got their homes, livelihoods and properties destroyed.
For a week now, the water level of the dam has increased astronomically, sending shock waves to the citizenry who live along the banks of the Volta Lake.

The presentation of the truck load of items to the Ada East area by the Foundation follows a similar donation valued at Ghc 1.2 million to victims within Mepe and its environs.
If care is not taken and immediate measures put in place to curtail the increasing level of water to the dam, the country may loose its only source of Hydro Electric Power generation.
It is in this unfairness of human habitational disaster that many who have been gravely affected, look up to the duty of government and the generosity of the McDan Foundation to help alleviate their pain of losing everything and give them a spark of hope.
Residents of islands including Azizakpey, Azizanya, Kewunor, and Aflivey were all severely affected by the floods and had to flee in order to save their families without taking along clothing, supplies or money.

The DCE for Ada East, Sarah Dugbekie Pobee reported that more than 600 displaced people were evacuated to a temporary school shelter, Azizanya DA Basic School.
A delegation from the McDan Group led by the Managing Director, Leonora Appiah Opokuwaa, Her Royal Majesty Naana Adikie Manyeyo Adi 1 and EagleGhana donated food items, Drinks, Water, Clothing, Mattresses, Blankets among several other items to the displaced victims.
Speaking on behalf of the team, Dr Agomenu said “We understand the pain of losing everything and praying for hope, for that we heeded to your prayers and have come to give these relief items to you and to share in your pain with prayers while appreciating the love of God in our lives”.

The DCE for Ada East, Hon Sarah who received the items said ” We have waited and prayed to God to allow the generosity of someone like you to come and support us as the government is also doing its part to ameliorate the pain of our people from this tragedy. We are forever grateful and Kind to your humbling showcasing of love by bringing all these products to Ada.
It shall be used in good faith to help all, but as Oliver Twist once said, We need more. So I use this opportunity to invite all and sundry to bring supplies to the Aid of our displaced people here in Ada while following the footsteps of Dr. Daniel Mckorley”.
Naana Adikie Manyeyo Adi 1 also had this to say” We are very grateful to the McDan Foundation and to Dr. Daniel McKorle for giving out these relief items worth millions to the people affected by the pillage of the dam.

It is a kind gesture and I employ all to do the same in protecting the dignity of our humanity may God bless us all as we plan to aid in the donation.
” In Conclusion, Dr. Donald Agomenu added his voice of encouragement, inspiration and assurance to the depressed and down-hearted thereby increasing their fate in positivity.
Ends.
