Lydia Ahassan, Ophelia Mensah, Others Face Appointments Committee Today

The Appointments Committee of Parliament begins public hearings today Tuesday March 5, 2024 to vet President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s newly nominated ministers of state, deputy ministers and regional ministers.

Among those set to appear are Lydia Seyram Alhassan, Minister-designate for the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources; Ophelia Mensah Hayford, Minister-designate for the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation;, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, Minister-designate for the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture; Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, Minister-designate for the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development; and Darkoa Newman, Minister-designate for the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection.

The vetting will continue on March 5 and end on March 12, 2024.
