I’m The Impactful Paul In NPP Than All–Bawumia
Vice president and flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has sent a strong message to his critics who claimed that he only joined the party in 2008 and does not deserve to lead the party into the 2024 General Elections.
The flagbearer hopeful disagrees with this assertion with a simple analogy whiles addressing delegates of the NPP in the Akuapem South constituency in the Eastern Region on Sunday, August 6, 2023.
According to him, he is the Paul in the NPP who did not join the party early but has been more impactful than those who claim to have been in the party for a long time.
“They say Dr. Bawumia is a new member, he joined the party just 2008 so should not become the next flagbearer. Though I came in 2008 but I have been made running mate four times over the last 16 years. I have become vice president two times, yet you claim I am new. Those of you who are Christians, did Paul come early? Did he come early?
“Paul didn’t come early but was more impactful and influential. I am the Paul! I’m the Paul who did not come early but impactful than all,” Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said.
The Vice President is one of three flagbearer aspirants aiming to replace President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as leader of the NPP.
He faces strong competition from nine others including former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen and Assin Central MP Ken Ohene Agyepong.
