IGP Removal Leaked Tape: Bugri Naabu’s Personal Aide, Receptionist Pick-up by NIB Officials
The personal Aide and receptionist of former Northern regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bugri Naabu have been picked-up by officials of the National Investigative Bureau (NIB) ostensibly in relation to the leaked tape for the removal of the Inspector General of Police.
Mr Bugri Naabu who confirmed the arrest in an interview to Parker Wilson of Oyerepa TV said he got to his office Thursday July 20, 2023 morning but could not find his personal aide and receptionist called S.K and Akua respectively.
According to him, the duo had taken the lead to the office but upon reaching the office, they were nowhere to be found and said he initially feared they might have been involved in an accident before he was informed that they were whisked away in a white car by armed police men upon reaching the premises and taken to NIB at Kawukudi.
The former Northern regional NPP chairman said he does not want any trouble and called on the NIB to release his staff since he does not know the reason for which they were picked up.
He denied knowledge of the tape saying even if he does, he would not talk about the leaked tape recording even though he confess some people came to him complaining about the IGP’s conduct.
He was ready to appear before Parliament’s special committee established to investigate the leaked tape when invited.
Mr Naabu rubbishes the claim that he was plotting to remove the IGP saying he is not the appointing authority to remove him from office.
