Haruna Iddrisu Hosts John Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama on Sunday, July 16, 2023, was the guest of former Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, at his residence in Tamale, the Northern Regional capital.

President Mahama was in the Northern and Savanna Regions for a working tour where he visited chiefs and traditional rulers including Tolon Naa Major Abubakari Sulemana (Rtd.), Kaasuliyili Naa Yakubu Bukari, Lingbun Naa Sayibu and Nyankpala Naa Ibrahim Mahama.

He took time off his busy-schedules to visit his younger brother, Mr Haruna who welcomed him amid smiles and exchange of pleasantries as the latter ushered his guest into his residence.

The duo continue their discussion amid jokes and laughter.

There has been some media reports that there is rivalry between Mr Mahama and Haruna Iddrisu due to the latter presidential ambition but the demeanor of both men discredited those assertions.

Former President Mahama has on countless occasions denied that there is friction between him and the Tamale South legislator.

The former president, who is also the candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), on his arrival at Haruna’s home, interacted briefly with the household before proceeding to the hall.
