Haruna Iddrisu Advocate Probe Into Large Ghanaain Delegation To COP28
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu is advocating a Parliamentary probe into allegations that government has registered over 600 delegates for the ongoing Conference of Parties (COP28) at Dubai.
According to data released by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Ghana’s delegation to COP28 balloned from the 350 registered last year to 618 this year.
The delegation consists of 95 persons on the official parties list and an additional 523 on the party overflow list.
Rainsing a concern on the issue Monday December 4, 2023 on the floor of Parliament on Monday, the former Minority Leader was disturbed about the potential impact of the huge number of attendees at COP28 on the state coffers if indeed the state sponsored them.
