Gov’t Will Not Leave Out Ada State In Road Infrastructure Development- Prz Akufo-Addo Assures
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has given assurance that his government will not leave out the Ada state in the ongoing road infrastructure development across the country.
He noted that a lot has already been done to improve the quality of the road network in the country but was quick to add that ‘there is still a lot more to be done.”
“You can be sure that my government will not leave out the people of Ada,” the President emphasized.
The President made these remarks while addressing the chiefs and people of Ada as well as visitors and tourists at the Asafotu park located at Big Ada during the grand durbar of this year’s Asafotu festival (Asafotufiam 2023) over the weekend.
His Excellency the President who was accompanied by the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Stephen Asamoah Boateng; the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey and a host of other government functionaries expressed excitement about the level of support majority of the people of Ada were giving to Electrochem Ghana Limited as it feverishly works to revamp the concession.
He urged the chiefs and the people to continue giving maximum support to Electrochem Ghana Limited since the project had the capacity to transform the lives of the citizenry as well as the Ada and Ghana’s economy.
In his welcome address, the Paramount Chief of the Ada Traditional Area and President of the Ada Traditional Council, Djetse Abram Kabu Akuaku III expressed profound gratitude to the President for making time to grace the festival for the first time since the lease of the Songor concession for revamping by the government.

He also thanked the President for leasing the Highway Port located at Ada Foah to Eletrochem Ghana Limited.
He noted that on completion of the redevelopment works which is currently ongoing, the use of the port will reduce the movement of the heavy duty trucks on the Tema-Aflao road in the carriage of salt and goods, revive transportation and provide jobs for the teeming youth in Ada.
This year’s festival which is still in full swing is the 86th edition after its institution in 1937 is on the theme, ‘Honouring our heroes, revamping our natural resources and unlocking our tourism potentials.”
