Ghana Publishing Company Was In A Mess When I Took Over In 2017- David Asante

The Managing Director (MD) of the Ghana Publishing Company has disclosed some of the challenges he faced when he assumed office in 2017.

David Asante said the company was in a mess and was not in a good state.

Speaking on JoyNews on Thursday, September 7, Mr Asante revealed even parts of the company’s building had been leased to a private investor by the previous government.

However, he insisted that with the help of the board of directors of the company, he has been able to turn around the fortunes of the company.

“I assumed office in the year 2017 and I had the opportunity to embark on aggressive infrastructural reforms.”

“I also got the support of management, the board of directors, sector minister who are a very phenomenal group of leaders and we came together and the first point was to embark on an aggressive infrastructure drive. The company was in a mess and there was even a video we have documented and we call it publishing then and publishing now. That was how low the company had sunk.”

“So we looked at the physical outlook of the company and the very property that Ghana Publishing Company sits on the banks’ road and the three-storey building had been leased to a private investor.”

Touching on the growth of the company under his stewardship, Mr Asante revealed that the company printed some of the ballot papers that were used for the 2020 general elections.
