Ghana Police Service Assures Holidaymakers Of Incident Free ‘December In GH’ Festivities
The Ghana Police Service has assured the general public and potential tourists coming to Ghana later this month for the Ghana Tourism Authority’s sanctioned ‘December in GH’ of utmost safety during the period.
The development comes on the back of Ghana with its position as the gateway to Africa and serving as the holiday destination of holidaymakers who troop into the country to have fun during the festive period.
According to the Public Affairs Department of the Police Service, there are steps being taken by the Management of the security entity to deploy more men and officers as well as logistics on the ground to forestall any unforeseen events and bring order and sanity within the period.
” Over the past 5 years, our country due to its peaceful nature and sound business climate and world class tourist destinations dotted across has become the number 1 holiday destination for Ghanaians and persons from their Diaspora which brings millions of Cedis in revenue to the state and income to businesses to propel the economy.
It is part of our strategic security plans for the period to do a SWOT analysis of the key locations across the country which drives huge numbers of revellers and deploy more men and logistics to safeguard the peace and tranquillity in the midst of the celebrations”.
Also, the release also cautions would be patrons and holiday makers as well as event organizers to liaise with the security agencies to create a safe space and protect the full investments made into industry ahead of the main season for festivities.
” We will play our part and call on industry regulators like the Ghana Tourism Authority and all major event organizers to collaborate effectively to make the occasions noteworthy and safe for both patrons and businesses “.
