Ghana And UK’s Darling Lawyer Cum Social Media Activist Lays Down Continental Rules For 2024
Posted on his verified Facebook page on 2nd January, 2024, Chris Vincent Agyapong has this to say:
“For 2024 and the years ahead, I intend to waste as little time as possible.
I always tell people that I give my time to things and others but not to the extent of forgetting its value. Therefore, in all my dealings including relationships with people, my time remains the most precious.
Apart from the direct relationship between my time and my wealth/income, time remains what is not replenishable in this world. If you waste 2 hours of your time on this earth, you can never get it back—most things are replenishable.
When my relationship with people breaks down and I decide to take stock of events, I usually do not care about money or material things lost. If I wasted time (without getting value for it), then that’s when I may feel bad.
As a consultant lawyer, I get paid not less than £200 per every hour I choose to work. Hence, if I spend 2 hours doing something, that’s over £400 gone. The question then remains, was it worth it for me?
To become an effective timekeeper of my life and ensure that my remaining years are prudently used, I will be spending time with only those who bring me much value and engage with only those who provide ideas of value, even if dissenting.
Therefore, while I will continue to write on Facebook this year, I would expect sensible engagements with my content. If I find any internet pillock showcasing gross stupidity on here, I will just BLOCK the person for the simple fact that, an idiot does not deserve to read or follow me.
I see following me as a privilege, not a right. And if you don’t value it as such, don’t follow me. I’ve never gone to anyone’s house or page to call them to come and follow me.
While there are a lot of idiots in the world, the internet offers you a new opportunity to be sensible and engage intelligently, and create a worthy identity.
I have been online since 2003 and I make more than half of my annual income via the internet. But I know I am not here to engage with unintelligent folks, and I do not make my money from such people too.
Henceforth, if a person fails to reason, they cannot be within my space.
I entrust everyone to take stock of their time and engage with people and things that bring them value.
I can spend time responding to people boot for boot (as I seldom do)—but then again, these people are not paid much for their time or their time has no value—thus, it will be a waste of my time to engage this way.
I blocked someone who works at Melcom, earning 700 GHS a month (that’s less than 50 pounds the entire month and he works 8 hours for 6 days a week). The actual value of this person’s time is less than 5 cedis an hour. So, who will be losing out if I spend even 5 seconds on such a person?
Now, the block-a-thon continues. In fact, I may hire a Facebook assistant to respond to DMs and then block people too.
You can sit on your wall/page and write whatever you want, I don’t care. But if you decide to come and engage on my wall with my content, then my rules apply”.
He further stated that 2024 would be an amazing year to show love to all and sundry.
