Ellembele MP Providing Care & Support For The Aged
Deputy Minority leader in Ghana’s Parliament, Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah has once again demonstrated his love and care for the aged in society through his humanitarian services.
Mr Kofi-Buah who is the Member of Parliament for the Ellembele constituency in the Western region through his Aya Community Centre named after his mother has consistently provided healthcare and recreational support services that promotes inclusiveness and psychological support for the elderly in the Ellembele constituency and surrounding communities.

On the occasion of International Day of Older People which is observed on October 1 each year, the former Energy minister once again brought the elderly together fettered and interacted with them.
According to him, the establishment of the Aya Community centre to provide care for the elderly is a demonstration of his long held position and advocacy for care for the elderly.
In post on his X page commemorating the day, Mr Kofi-Buah enumerated the services the centre is providing for the elderly.

“Today marks International Day for the Elderly themed “Fulfilling the Promises of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights for Older Persons: Across Generations”, a call to draw attention to the unique needs of older people globally.
As a staunch advocate for the welfare of the aged, I am proud to have established an elderly care center in my beloved constituency with the core objective of catering for the well-being of the elderly.
Firstly, the care center ensures the physical well-being of our seniors by offering comprehensive healthcare services tailored to their needs. Regular check-ups, access to specialized medical professionals, and nutritious meals have significantly improved their overall health.
Secondly, the center aims to foster a sense of belonging and social connectivity among our elderly population through various recreational activities, workshops, and group outings where they can bond, share experiences, and combat feelings of solitariness and isolation.
Additionally, the care center has recognized the importance of mental health of the elderly and implemented programs that enhance cognitive abilities, such as memory exercises and stimulating games.4

The establishment of the elderly care center in my constituency has truly transformed the lives of our senior citizens. By prioritizing their physical, emotional, and social well-being, we have created a haven that enables them to age gracefully. Let us join hands in this noble crusade to value and provide relentless support to our elderly population in recognition of the immeasurable contributions they have made throughout their lifetimes.
Happy International Elderly Day
