Electrochem Expanding Infrastructure To Ada East As It Begun Construction Of Export Port

Electrochem Ghana Limited (EGL), a subsidiary of the McDan Group of Companies, is expanding its infrastructure to the Ada East District where it hopes to employ another set of over 3,000 employees in addition to the 3000 employed at Ada West District where it is currently operating.
The company, according the Chairman of the McDan Group of Companies, Dr. Daniel McKorley, is also constructing an export port in Ada East.
He said this in an interview on Joy FM Friday September 22, 2023.
According to Dr. McKorley, people are trouping to Ada for employment as a result of the Electrochem project.

“If you enter Ada now, there is a new feeling; you will feel the change because every sector of Ada is developing” he noted.
He said the company has introduced community mining to cater for the interest of artisanal miners in the communities along the concession, and the Ada people in general.
“The artisanal miners will be guided to mine in line with international standards. He added that each of the communities along the concession is being allocated averagely eleven (11) community pans which will cumulatively yield about 998,000 bags annually”, he said.
Dr McKorley noted that EGL has also made an offer to the miners to sell their yield back to the company, a way of providing them a ready market.
