ECG bares its teeth again – announces phase II of nationwide revenue mobilisation exercise
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has served notice of an imminent nationwide revenue mobilisation exercise which is expected to run from Monday 29th May to Friday 2nd June, 2023.
The exercise according to the company, will focus on all categories of customers indebted to the including state-owned enterprises (SOEs).

A statement issued by the company today, Tuesday 23rd May, 2023 said it will operate its offices with a lean workforce offices to ensure its top management and staff move to the grounds to embark on the nationwide exercise similar to the month-long one which was undertaken a few weeks ago resulting in the recovery of more than 50% of the targeted 5.7 billion cedies owed the company by customers.
In the statement, ECG noted that the exercise will be monitored by special teams who will apprehend and prosecute customers who attempt to interfere with the exercise and or undertake illegal self-reconnection after disconnection.
It also entreated customers in arears to settle their indebtedness to avoid disconnection and its attendant payment of reconnection fee.
It will be recalled that ECG recovered GHC3.1 billion out of the GHC5.7 billion debt owed by customers across the country after a month-long national revenue mobilisation exercise in April.
