Communications Minister Extols The Role Of Digitisation In Nation Building

Ghana’s Minister for Communications and Digitalization, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has reiterated the important role of digitalization in nation building.

Speaking at the 75th annual new year school and conference organised by the School of Continuing and Distiance Education of the University of Ghana , Hon Usurla Ekuful who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West said digitalisation serves as a driver of economic growth for the transformation the country.

She stated that some 100 teachers have been trained so far in Information Communication and Technology (ICT) under GIFEC to supplement learning in schools with skills in website designing, coding etc and provided with laptops.

According to the Minister, government had placed computers in more than 300 schools to aid them in IT skills enhancement and training.

Hon Owusu-Ekuful also told the gathring that the digitalized agenda is the way to go and that Ghanaians must continue to appreciate the impact of digitalization in their lives
