Afram Plains North MP Receives Honorary Doctorate Degree
The Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North constituency in the Eastern region, Betty Krosbi Nana Efua Mensah has been honoured with an honorary doctorate degree in Humane letters at a colourful ceremony in Accra.

The Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters by Elohim Theological College and Seminary an affiliate of Apostolic University (USA) accredited by the Worldwide Ecumenical Accreditation Network (USA) is in recognition of the young lawmakers contribution to humanity to make society a better place for all.

Betty Krosbi Nana Efua Mensah through her own ingenuity and resourcefulness has made positive impact in the lives of her people in the areas of healthcare, education, agriculture and fishing, business, apprenticeship training, human rights advocacy among several others.

Some these includes the reshaping and graveling of some feeder roads, building of health facilities, mostly CHPS Compounds, provision of scholarship to needy school children, erecting of school pavilions for remote communities, payment of medical bills and support for persons living with disability among others.

She is the proud recipient of the 2022 Best Female Member of Parliament award among the 40 ranked female legislators in Ghana’s parliament according to an investigation conducted by FAKS Investigative Services.
The Afram Plains MP who has been variously described by her constituents as workaholic serves her people with dedication and zeal despite the risks associated with her movement to and from the 3w4s3erdf vsover 400 island communities.

The constituency which is arguably one of the less privileged constituency in the country due to its geographical location and lack of basic infrastructure and social amenities.

Speaking at the ceremony, the MP expressed gratitude for the recognition and said the gesture symbolises a shared responsibility for all to uphold values f compassion and empathy for the greater good of society.

“I am humbled to be counted among the remarkable individuals honored as Doctor of Humane Letters, receiving this prestigious recognition is not merely a personal achievement but a testament to the collective efforts of individuals who have dedicated their lives to the betterment of society. This honor is not merely a title but a symbol of our shared responsibility to uphold the values of compassion, empathy, and greater good. It serves as a reminder to continue our dedication to impartiality and compassion to create a humane world” she stated.

The recipient used the opportunity to appeal for funds for the second phase surgery of a young boy suffering from a hole-in-heart condition at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

“In line with this award and recognition, my team and I would like to use this opportunity to appeal to all individuals to help us raise an amount of $10,000 to help in the second stage surgery of a young Caleb from Fassor Bator who is suffering from a hole in the heart condition”.

She also announced to be address with the title Dr, henceforth.
“I feel honored to inform all of you to kindly address me as HONORABLE DR. BETTY KROSBI NANA EFUA MENSAH”.
