Mfantseman MP Threatens Legal Action Against NDC Communicator Over False Social Media Claims
The Member of Parliament for Mfantseman, Ophelia Hayford Mensah has threatened to pursue a legal action against a communications member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the constituency, one Mr John Bambir if he fails to retract and apologise to her over disparaging comments against her person.
According to a statement issued by the Mfantseman lawmaker, she was compelled to respond to Mr Bambir’s several inacurate facebook posts about her person.
Some of the commemnts made by My Bambir on his facebook post against the MP include;
“Nana-Bawumia-Ophelia govt……selling the heritage of Mfantseman to foreigners”
“you have failed as an MP for Mfantseman, but it’s rather barbaric to ask your boys to pull down the billboards of your opponent. This can’t save your underperforming legacy” …” Clearly the MP for Mfantseman ordered for the removal of John Mahama and Dr. Arhin’s billboard…. Chris Amissah is one of the Ophelia’s goro boys…! We shall see!”
“Kennedy claims has been supporting NPP in the Constituency till date felt betrayed. The MP would always betray you and, I’m not surprised. She did it to the very executives who helped her. Reason why today a vice chairman of the constituency has resigned to contest,”
“you have been in power for almost four years and you are not saying anything about the death of your husband. We are asking you just one question, HOW FAR WITH THE INVETIGATIONPP
“Aside the mirage of errors in the said release, its touted the MP to be a Lawyer when on record she’s not. This is serious! He who seeks equity must come with clean hands…”
Hon Ophelia Mensah responded to each of the false claims by the NDC communicator and urged him to to retract, render an apology and disists from further peddling such falsehood against her of face court action.
“It would be in the best interest of Mr. John Bambir to apologize and retract his statements and also to desist from the peddling of derogatory comments and statements against my person. Failure to comply will lead me with no option but to initiate legal proceedings to address the harm caused by these false statements” the release stated.
The MP also called on her constituents to have faith as they support her work stedfast
however urge the good people of Mfantseman to have faith and keep supporting her as they work ogether to move Mfantseman forward.
