Black Stars Begin Training Ahead Of Two World Cup Qualifiers
The Black Stars of Ghana have openned camp in Accra on Monday, November 13, 2023, ahead of their two FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.
The squad is expected to begin training at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday evening before moving to Kumasi on Wednesday to wrap up their preparations for the first game.
Ghana will square off with Madagascar in the first game at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Friday, November 17 before traveling to Moroni for the second game against Comoros on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
The next round of international matches come on the back off two awful performances from the team in the USA against Mexico and the US men national team which resulted in the Black Star shipping 6 goals in just 2 games, which drew anger amongst Ghanaians ahead of next year’s AFCON in Ivory Coast .
The concerns are genuine because most Ghanaians expect the team to give a good performance in the upcoming tournament to get close to ending the over 40 year drought in the competition since last winning it in 1982 in Libya.
The two matches against Madagascar and Comoros serve as the Launchpad for the quest to also qualify for the 2026 mundial in North America for the 5th appearance of Ghana at the biggest football showpiece in the world.
