Alan Quits NPP, Goes Independent For 2024 Elections

September 25, 2023

Persistent attacks on follows of Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten by members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has compelled him to say good bye to the New Patriotic Party and goes independent.

He has accordingly announced that he is contesting the 2024 general elections as an Independent Presidential Candidate.

”What Ghana needs now is a new leader, not a new political party” he stated.

He said his decision to go independent would not destroy the NPP as a party but afford them the opportunity to partake in the government of national unity.

Alan Kyeremanten stated that intimidation and monetisation in the 2024 NPP super delegates conference is unprecedented.

According to him, he joined the NPP based of stated values since its formation but observed that the NPP as it exists now has very little resemblance of the party he joined many years.

The party he said has been hijacked by who he described as some unscrupulous elements and its therefore evidently clear to him that his contribution to the party are no longer needed hence his decision to go solo.

He said he will lead the establishment of a new movement for change in Ghana based on transformation.

Ghana he said would rise again, saying he offers vision, competence and action.

”I wish to use this platform to announce that, I am honourbly resigning from the party with immediate effect” he stated.

Background

As chairman of the Young Executive Forum (YEF) formed since the formation of the party became the financial backbone of the NPP over the years

Supported the party between 1996 to the year 2000 leading to the victory of President John Agyekum Kufuor and later convinced to become the Ambassador to the USA.

He touted his achievements over the years to the good of the party.

Alan said he made sacrifice to allow Akufo-Addo to be elected flagbearer but his supporters were attacked leading to his resignation as a protest.

He said he rescinded his decision and rejoined the party based on the promise that no such attack will occur but it resurfaced in the recent elections.

His followers he said were treated with disdain and considered an outcast.

I believe I have served my country and would continue to do so.
