Minority Vows To Fight Until Governor Addison And His Deputies Resign
The Minority National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ghana’s Parliament says it will not relent in its efforts but push until the Govenor of the Central Bank and his two deputies lay down their tools.
Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga who reiterated the call ignited by his leader, the minority leader Dr Casiel Ato Forson says the Minority will continue its probe into the $250 million allocated for the construction of a new headquarters for the Bank of Ghana.
The MP argues that the explanation given by the governor, Dr. Ernest Addison, only aggravates the situation and calls for further investigation.
Dr. Ernest Addison on Monday August 21, 2023 dismissed claims that the Central Bank breached procurement laws in pursuit of the construction of the edifice.
Responding to the claims by the Govenor on an Accra based Citi Fm, the Bawku Central lawmaker insisted that Dr Addison must resign and emphasized that the Minority will do whatever it takes to drive out the governor of the Central Bank and his deputies.
According to him the Minority will continue its probe into the $250 million allocated for the construction of a new headquarters for the Bank of Ghana.
Governor during on Monday at a press conference insisted that the Bank did not breach any procurement laws of the country its pursuit of putting up the new headquarters.
