Special Prosecutor Questions Former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Dapaah

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) yielded to public pressure calling for the intervention of the office to investigate and if possible, prosecute the former minister Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Dapaah.

The former minister resigned over alleged stealing of huge sums of money in different denominations from her her Abelenkpe residence in Accra by her house helps.

Social commentators and social media users mounted pressure on the OSP to take up the matter before it gets cold.

A press release headlined: `CECILIA ABENA DAPAAH’ dated Monday July 24, 2023 and signed by the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng stated that the former minister, Cecilia Abena Dapaah was placed under arrest by his office “in respect of suspected corruption and corruption related offences regarding large amounts of money and other valuable items reportedly stolen from her residence”

The release concluded that “Ms Dapaah is being questioned by authorised OFFICERS of the OSP”.
