NDC Journalist Threatened To Destroy McDan In Next Mahama Gov’t
Journalist cum self-acclaimed businessman, Raymond Archer, has threatened to bring down businesses belonging to Dr Daniel McCorley (McDan) in the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.
Mr Archer who claimed McDan is a member of the New Patriotic Party, has therefore advised him to pray for his party the NPP to remains in power forever.
He also stated that, McDan businesses and other businesses of NPP supporters who were given prominence to enjoy and thrive under this government should be wary of the dangers ahead should the NDC be voted into office in the 2024 general elections.
Mr Raymond Archer who said these on Accra based, Radio Gold indicated, “They [NPP] have this pattern where they target NDC people when they are in office. They destroy the business, they build their own, destroy the politicians, pop up their own…McDan, he has to pray. I don’t talk too much but he has to pray that his government stays in office forever.”
“Now, he has the McDan Group…a whole lagoon; natural resource was seized and given to him and all those people who lived on that lagoon and I understand about 4,000, 5,000 livelihoods have been taken and given to one man…he is building his empire whiles trampling on other people is who they are and what they have always done,” he stated.
It would be recalled that officials of Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited in 2020 implemented a court order by pulling down unauthorized structures belonging to different companies for the commencement of a redevelopment project at the Trade Fair Center.
Sources close Mr Raymond Archer says his bitterness against McDan is as a result of the lawful demolition of illegal structures including his companies Universal Labels and Packaging Co. Ltd (UNIPACK) and Colour Planet Limited for the Trade Fair Redevelopment Project.
According to the source, Mr Archer expected McDan who is Board Chairman of the Trade Fair Company Limited to prevail on the law enforcement agencies executing the court order to have left out his (Raymond Acher’s) structures out of the demolition exercise but he did not hence the hatred against McDan.
The Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited (GTFCL) in a statement then explained that it had informed all its tenants about the redevelopment project and gave them the mandatory 6-month notice on July 10, 2018, to vacate the site by 31st December of the same year [2018].
Since 31st December 2018, none of the business on-site had any valid tenancy agreement with the GTFCL before the demolition two years after during which several notices were given.
When contacted, close associates of Dr Daniel McCorley say McDan is a law abiding citizen who has complied with all laws and regulations governing business operation in the country.
They claimed he followed the right processes including parliamentary approval to register and acquire all his business concessions including those Mr Archer claimed have been ceased and given to him.
