QNET Observes World Health Day In Ghana With Stakeholder Information Session

Speakers at a stakeholder information and demonstration session organised by QNET, a leading global wellness and lifestyle-focused direct-selling company to commemorate this year’s World Health Day have called on Ghanaians to patronise healthy dietary supplements to enhance their living standards.

The QNET world health day event which was held at the Marriot Hotel in Accra on Friday 5th April, 2024 had in attendance stakeholders from the media, academia, medical practice and fitness and nutrition industry.

The theme for the 2024 World Health Day is: “My Health, My Right” strategically aligning with QNET’s theme for the Month of April: “Championing Health”.

In welcome address, the Legal Counsel for QNET in the sub-Saharan Africa, Naana Quartey acknowledged the importance of natural ingredients and advanced technology in the manufacture of healthy products for improved wellness and healthy living standards of all.

According to her QNET aims at manufacturing and distribution of health and wellness products including dietary supplements and skincare products among others to help curb address the numerous health and nutritional challenges.

“QNET manufactures and distributes health and wellness products such as dietary supplements, skincare products, and lifestyle accessories designed to address various health and nutritional challenges. We often use natural ingredients and advanced technologies in the development of our products” she stated.

Naana Quartey revealed diseases such as malaria, stroke, respiratory infections, neonatal disorders diabetics some of which are caused by poor hygiene and sanitation, lack of access to clean water, malnutrition and food insecurity, air pollution and exposure to harmful chemicals have been identified leading causes of death in Ghana.

“The Center for Disease Control and Prevention, CDC, listed the following as the leading causes of death in Ghana: Malaria, Cholera, Stroke, Lower respiratory infections, Neonatal disorders, Ischemic heart disease, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Diarrheal diseases, Diabetes, Cirrhosis and other chronic liver diseases. Some of these diseases and sicknesses are caused by poor hygiene and sanitation, lack of access to clean water, malnutrition and food insecurity, air pollution and exposure to harmful chemicals, among others”, Madam Quartey disclosed.

A lecturuer in Nutrition at the University of Ghana, Dr Justina Owusu and Dr Frank Marful of the Nyaho Medical Centre took turns to provide insights on nutritional elements most Ghanaians need and how they can be easily derived.

Dr Owusu on her part emphasised the need for the consuminig public to consume local fruits and vegetables which contain natural sources of essential nutirients even as they patronised dietary supplements of QNET.

On his part, Dr Frank Marful-Sau said the consumption of dietary supplements have become inevitable for the body to derive maximum benetfit for proper functioning since most dishes cooked in Ghanaian homes loose essential nutirients due to the cooking methods used.

Health and fitness enthusiasts from the Fitrip Gymnasium in Accra took participants through some simple but effective exercise routines.

They encouraged participants to effectively practice good nutrition habits even as they aspire to stay fit.

Every participant was also able to taste some QNET products, many, for the first time.

QNET’s World Health Day event featured various presentations at informing and educating Ghanaians on healthy nutrition, dietetics, and supplements.
