Ghana Names Final Squad For 2023 AFCON Today Jan 1, 2024
Head Coach of the senior national football team, Chris Hughton will address the media today Monday, January 1, 2024, at 11 am as he unveils the final squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.
The unveiling press conference to be held at the Alisa Hotel is expected to be broadcast live on the official pages of the Ghana Football Association, including Facebook, YouTube, and the Ghana Football App.
The engagement aims to provide Coach Hughton with the opportunity to interact with the sports media in anticipation of the continental tournament scheduled to take place from Saturday, January 13, to Sunday, February 11, 2024.
As part of the team’s preparation for the tournament, the Black Stars of Ghana are scheduled to play an international friendly against Namibia at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, January 8, 2024.
Hughton faces the challenging task of finalizing his 50-man provisional selection to form the 27-man squad, a decision that will significantly impact the Black Stars’ campaign in the eagerly-anticipated tournament.
The Black Stars are sweating on the fitness of several players in the provisional squad including Arsenal star Thomas Partey and Southampton winger Kamaldeen Sulemana.
The deadline for announcing the 27-man squads is set for January 3.
